Farmers take extra care to ensure the harvest is picked just at the right time, to ensure that they get the most value from the beans.

The Spanish introduced Ethiopian coffee to Peru after the 16th Century. The country has been a major player in the coffee trade ever since. It is one of the five largest producers of Arabica.
Small farming families have formed cooperatives throughout the country. They can now access fair trade prices and can sell their beans directly. Small farms are also encouraged to use eco-friendly methods to reduce the environmental impact of their coffee production.
